Job Description

PerfectServe is hiring a remote Senior QA Engineer to oversee product reliability, safety, and quality through both manual and automated testing. Established in 1997, the company provides clinical communication, physician scheduling, and health IT solutions to over 30,000 customer organizations, utilizing AI-driven workflows and real-time information sharing to accelerate patient care.

In this senior individual contributor role, you will be the sole QA engineer on the team over time, taking charge of quality independently while establishing the test automation framework from scratch. The existing QA workflow is entirely manual, meaning this position will shape test architecture, build UI and end-to-end automation, integrate pipelines into CI/CD, and collaborate closely with developers to uphold stringent healthcare safety standards.

This position suits an experienced quality professional with a strong technical background in Python and test automation frameworks who thrives on independent ownership and cross-functional teamwork. Success in this role requires a balance of technical execution, design architecture, release readiness coordination, and proactive communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual test cases and document defects clearly
  • Build test automation frameworks from the ground up using Python and tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
  • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and perform API testing
  • Design test architectures, write test plans, and author test strategy documentation
  • Conduct performance and security testing
  • Ensure HIPAA test coverage and validate application and production parity
  • Partner with developers and product teams while mentoring junior staff in automation skills

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional QA engineering experience including end-to-end ownership of complex work
  • Hands-on background in executing test cases, tracking defects, test automation, API testing, and CI/CD integration
  • Experience building test frameworks from scratch utilizing Python
  • Practical experience developing UI and end-to-end automation with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies, quality metrics, and release coordination
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present status and risk reports to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience testing within a HIPAA or HITRUST-regulated healthcare sector
  • Prior performance and security testing background
  • Familiarity with Twilio, telephony, VoIP, or call center software, particularly in automating real call flows
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Zephyr
  • Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, or Argo CD
  • Experience performing performance testing using Locust

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Remote first work environment
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options available on day one
  • 401(k) plan with employer match that is immediately vested
