The successful candidate will direct cross-functional preparation, evaluate evidence, identify operational risks, and mentor junior audit personnel. This remote position requires the candidate to live in California or within roughly a two-hour flight of the state to accommodate travel demands. This role suits professionals with a strong background in healthcare compliance, quality management, or regulatory audits who excel at managing complex projects under tight deadlines. The individual will collaborate closely with clinical, quality, and leadership teams to maintain organizational readiness and guide regulatory response strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of assigned PACE regulatory audits, mock evaluations, and readiness tasks
- Organize kickoff meetings, readiness sessions, stakeholder communications, and evidence submissions
- Examine and verify audit records for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory standards
- Offer virtual and on-site support during audits, handling logistics, interview coordination, and real-time issue management
- Create and update audit tracking dashboards, reports, and plans for leadership oversight
- Guide and mentor Audit Specialists and Audit Coordinators while partnering with management on team workloads
- Work alongside clinical, quality, and compliance leaders to transition audit results into corrective action plans
Requirements
- Must reside in California or within approximately a two-hour flight of California
- Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare quality, regulatory compliance, audits, operational readiness, or performance improvement
- Familiarity with regulatory audit methodologies, evidence validation, and documentation standards
- Demonstrated capability to independently manage concurrent audits, multiple stakeholders, and strict deadlines
- Must comply with company vaccination policies and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in healthcare administration, public health, nursing, business administration, health information management, regulatory affairs, quality management, compliance, or a related discipline
- Five or more years of relevant professional experience
- Prior experience coordinating regulatory audits, accreditation reviews, mock assessments, or readiness efforts
- Background working within PACE, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, or healthcare operations environments
