Operating remotely, this position functions as an integrated strategic advisor to internal leadership, navigating niche talent markets and managing full-cycle recruitment for foundational business functions.
This role suits professionals with extensive experience in talent acquisition who enjoy tackling ambiguous searches and developing innovative sourcing strategies for quantitative and technical domains. The selected individual will collaborate directly with hiring managers to define candidate profiles, design unique interview processes, and advocate for inclusive hiring methods. While the primary focus is on risk, compliance, and infosecurity functions, the workload may also encompass engineering searches as organizational needs shift.
Total compensation for this position includes base salary, equity through stock options or RSUs, and comprehensive benefits. Base pay is determined by expertise, experience, and geographic location. For employees situated in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area, the annual base salary ranges from $132,400 to $165,500 USD. For US personnel located outside those specific metro areas, the annual base salary ranges from $119,200 to $149,000 USD. For Canadian employees regardless of location, the annual base salary ranges from $125,100 to $156,400 CAD.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical and analytical positions across Information Security, Compliance Data Modeling and Analytics, and Risk Strategy
- Partner with hiring managers to establish success metrics, distinguish critical domain expertise from trainable skills, and build specialized interview workflows
- Design targeted sourcing methods for niche candidate pools spanning data science, analytics, security, engineering, and financial services
- Advise hiring leaders using market data, talent mapping, and recruitment metrics to guide hiring choices
- Cultivate professional relationships with candidates and articulate their potential influence at Mercury
- Promote inclusive hiring methodologies and lead interview panels toward evidence-based decisions
- Adapt recruiting approaches for new and evolving positions to bring structure to complex searches
- Analyze recruitment data to eliminate bottlenecks, enhance talent pipelines, and improve candidate experience
- Provide recruitment support across different teams and role types as business objectives evolve
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- Minimum of 5 years of overall experience within talent, HR, or people operations functions
- Demonstrated track record of hiring for quantitative or technical roles such as information security, compliance analytics, or data science
- Direct background recruiting for risk and compliance teams within financial services or fintech
- Familiarity with how regulatory mandates and domain knowledge influence specialized searches
- Capability to learn technical topics, discuss candidate backgrounds with specialized teams, and translate complex criteria into sourcing strategies
- Willingness to execute engineering searches, including information security engineering positions, when required
- Experience engaging with senior leaders and executives to guide hiring choices
