Tebra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its team on a remote basis, with the position headquartered in Corona Del Mar, California. Tebra provides an all-in-one EHR and patient platform designed for independent healthcare practices to streamline operations, reduce administrative burden, and connect software tools like billing, automation, and telehealth.
In this role, the engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for large software systems and payment initiatives, taking charge of architectural design, technical planning, and hands-on coding for core platforms like the Worldpay Payment Facilitation system. The position suits a technical professional experienced in financial software and high-volume transaction processing who can build extensible frameworks, optimize complex code, and integrate third-party APIs such as Stripe and TriPOS. The employee will also mentor junior team members, perform code reviews, and act as a primary escalation point for production issues on cloud environments like GCP and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing systems to recommend and provide innovative solutions for complex business challenges
- Lead software engineering design reviews to evaluate feasibility regarding time and financial constraints
- Develop extensible software frameworks and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Drive architectural design and technical planning for major platforms and features, including payment systems
- Write production-grade code for core payment systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Python
- Implement third-party API integrations like Stripe and TriPOS while building on GCP and AWS cloud platforms
- Review peer code, mentor junior engineers on payment processing practices, and collaborate closely with product managers
- Act as the primary escalation point for production issues, investigate payment discrepancies, and manage system health on GCP
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- One year of post-baccalaureate experience working as a software engineer in finance or a related field
- Professional background utilizing Java, Hibernate, Spring, Apache Struts, Full-Stack Development, and Oracle databases
- Experience handling high-volume transaction processing, data reporting, and process automation
