In this remote, full-time backend-focused role, you will build secure, low-latency APIs and backend services while collaborating across product, risk, and design teams. The position involves designing resilient architectures, driving technical decisions, and participating in an on-call rotation.

You will help improve platform reliability through automation, observability, and thoughtful system design while contributing to machine learning integration, experimentation, and policy lifecycle capabilities. Responsibilities
- Drive technical design and architectural choices while mentoring engineers and supporting cross-functional teamwork
- Lead multiple concurrent projects, balancing core responsibilities with assistance across broader team initiatives
- Build and maintain low-latency APIs and backend services for Trust and Safety platforms
- Establish domain expertise in platform architecture to deliver solutions that refine maturing systems
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and product managers to release features improving member protection and experience
- Enhance platform performance and reliability using system architecture, observability, and automation
- Evolve experimentation, policy lifecycle, and machine learning integration capabilities
- Participate in an on-call rotation, which may include responding to incidents outside regular working hours
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of software development experience in a production environment at scale
- Prior experience acting as a technical lead for a team and on complex projects
- Demonstrated experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
- Experience working with transactional databases and caching systems
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications
- Dedication to mentoring engineers and supporting team development
