The successful candidate will maintain complete ownership of data security, quality, governance, and schema design while creating standardized data models.
As part of this group, you will focus on scaling and optimizing ETL pipelines to accommodate rapid data growth and support self-serve insights utilizing artificial intelligence. Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and optimize ETL pipelines as a hands-on data engineer
- Design and scale database schemas to accommodate tenfold data growth
- Take ownership of data security, governance, quality, and schema design
- Develop scalable data architecture and standardized data models enabling AI-driven self-serve insights
- Manage ETL workflows to ensure pipeline availability and data quality standards are met
- Collaborate directly with DevOps, Data Science, and Analytics partner teams
- Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to incidents outside normal working hours when necessary
Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of experience in transforming data into lucid and governed datasets
- Bring 5 or more years of hands-on background building and deploying production-quality data pipelines
- Possess 5+ years of experience delivering business insights by working with stakeholders
- Demonstrate 5+ years of programming and tool experience writing Python and SQL while utilizing Spark, Airflow, AWS Glue, and EMR
- Accumulate 3 or more years of practical experience with MPP database systems such as Teradata, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake
- Show a proven track record of successful collaboration with DevOps, Data Science, and Analytics teams
- Demonstrate understanding of pipeline performance metrics and have built solutions providing visibility to partners
