This full-time position suits an experienced software professional skilled in modern web development and cross-functional engineering. In this capacity, the engineer will create and refine the company's React and Next.js website, partner with backend teams utilizing PHP and Clojure, lead initiatives from conception through delivery, and manage project tasks using Jira. Additional duties involve designing and evaluating A/B tests through feature flags, maintaining platform observability via dashboards and alerts, authoring technical design documents, and handling bug resolution to sustain production stability. The role offers a base salary between $140,000 and $200,000 annually, alongside potential performance-based bonuses, equity, and remote work arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and optimize the React and NextJS website by building new features and maintaining high performance
- Collaborate with backend engineers working in PHP and Clojure to design integrated end-to-end features
- Lead projects of varying complexity from inception to completion alongside product managers and fellow engineers
- Author clear technical design documents and maintain project specifications
- Create and manage Jira cards to drive task clarity and operational accountability
- Design, execute, and monitor feature flag-driven A/B tests to measure impacts on user behavior and metrics
- Implement and oversee platform observability by creating monitoring dashboards, alerts, and troubleshooting tools
- Investigate and fix production bugs to preserve system stability and user experience
- Participate actively in a fully remote and collaborative team culture
Requirements
- At least 10 years of software development experience
- More than 5 years of working experience with React
- More than 2 years of experience working in a true full stack or backend-intensive environment
- Proficiency in profiling and optimizing React applications for performance
- Strong understanding of responsive design, UI/UX principles, and component libraries
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment strategies
- Familiarity with logging, metrics, alerting, monitoring, and dashboards
Qualifications
- Experience leading teams or overseeing significant projects
- Proficiency with Next.js including server-side rendering, static site generation, API routes, and dynamic routing
