The London engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack - New Verticals to design, build, and scale high-performance features across the entire technology stack. This hybrid position requires working from the London office approximately three days per week. The role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys tackling high-traffic workloads, driving architectural enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring peers within a fast-moving, low-hierarchy environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services and frontend components handling heavy traffic workloads
- Drive architectural improvements and lead code reviews to maintain operational health and visibility
- Collaborate with product managers and experience designers to plan projects and manage technical risks
- Deconstruct complex technical problems to influence team roadmap and technical direction
- Mentor engineering colleagues and participate in the hiring process for the team
Requirements
- Experience building web applications using a modern stack such as Go, Ruby, Python, or Scala
- Demonstrated ability to design and operate web architecture at scale with high request volumes
- Ownership background with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience working with NoSQL backends including Redis, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch
- Commitment to writing readable, thoroughly tested code
