PointClickCare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its team on a hybrid basis. In this role, the software engineer will manage tasks throughout the software development life cycle, write clean applications, and collaborate with business stakeholders on system requirements. Responsibilities
- Handle tasks across the software development life cycle from identification to execution
- Partner with business representatives to refine software specifications
- Build clean and effective applications and tools
- Automate workflows using scripts and relevant utilities
- Investigate and resolve system bugs
- Conduct verification and validation testing following test-driven practices
- Conduct peer code reviews and participate in reviews initiated by others
- Coordinate with internal staff and external vendors to resolve issues and enhance offerings
- Maintain software compatibility with current technological standards
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience writing scalable, clean code in Java
- Familiarity with Spring Boot
- Working knowledge of relational database systems including MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Background in constructing RESTful API endpoints
- Working knowledge of test-driven development principles
- Proficiency with GIT
- Familiarity with performance and system monitoring utilities such as DataDog and New Relic
- Experience utilizing automated testing frameworks like RestAssured, Selenium, and Cypress
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and personal leadership abilities
- Ability to execute responsibilities autonomously as a self-starter
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science or a related field
Qualifications
- Experience building user interfaces with frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js
- Familiarity with cloud environments including AWS and Azure
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio
- Experience using Ansible and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and IP networking
- Experience handling SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect
- Background in SaaS product development
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Familiarity with scripting tools like Groovy, Bash, or Python
