The Infrastructure Engineering division provides the resilient, high-performance, and automated foundation that powers these services, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and developer velocity. This centralized unit encompasses several high-impact teams such as Messaging, Compute, Build and Deployment, Consumer IAM, Core Systems and Libraries, and Security.
As a Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure Engineering, the professional will steer, build, amplify, collaborate, and evolve systems that enable the wider engineering organization. This role suits an engineer skilled in distributed systems who wants to handle the full software lifecycle, from technical design and API creation to experimentation, performance optimization, and developer tooling.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and Client Engineers to translate needs into technical solutions
- Own the full software lifecycle for major product initiatives from design documents and API contracts to rollout and observability
- Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments while analyzing user behavior and metrics
- Build and maintain scalable APIs like GraphQL, REST, and gRPC along with distributed backend services
- Establish engineering best practices, improve workflows, and mentor other team members
- Select, scope, and drive high-leverage projects aligned with organizational goals
- Create performant and scalable architecture for authentication, authorization, and identity
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, with a focus on machine learning storage infrastructure
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages including Golang, Python, C++, or Java
- Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, and GCP
- Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes to distributed messaging systems
