Job Description
Elastic is hiring a senior software engineer for its Integrations team. The team shapes how Elastic shows up inside AI assistants and agent-driven developer tools, which increasingly serve as the starting point for developer work. It owns the developer-facing products that connect Elastic to the wider ecosystem, including language clients, the command-line interface, the MCP server, outside integrations and agent skills.
The work includes building and evolving the Elastic MCP server and its supporting infrastructure, mainly in Go, and creating a platform for universal agent skills. That platform covers a portable skill format, authoring and publishing tools, and linting so that any team can release a skill that works across agents. The engineer would help define the correctness bar, making sure shipped skills and tools are validated through evaluations, and would contribute to the Elastic CLI and to libraries and integrations written in Go and Rust.
The role also involves building connections that bring Elastic into outside AI platforms, working with product teams and external partners to shape and deliver them. Product-minded input is valued: the posting asks for opinions on what should be built and why.
Candidates should have at least eight years of backend engineering experience on services, systems or libraries, and a working understanding of large language models, agents, skill frameworks and MCP. Recent, substantial hands-on Go work is required, along with willingness to pick up unfamiliar languages and codebases. Understanding of how clients and servers talk over the network, including HTTP and REST-style interfaces, is expected, together with a priority on making tools easy for developers to use.
The posting also looks for a drive to verify correctness through evaluations, the ability to work with self-direction in a remote team spread across regions, and clear communication with customers and outside partners.
The typical starting base salary range is 272,000 to 430,200 RON. Compensation is base salary only, with no variable component.
The listed location is the United Kingdom.
