This position focuses on improving the core technology infrastructure that powers the entire ecosystem, handling unique industry constraints such as high-traffic onsales.
The role combines traditional software engineering principles with infrastructure development, covering core compute, infrastructure as code, databases, and network architecture. Professionals in this role build developer tools, engineer observable networking infrastructure, support production deployments, and act as mentors to team members. Candidates participate in an on-call rotation.
The position is open to remote applicants and offers a full-time employment status with an annual salary range between $144,000 and $209,000 USD, along with equity eligibility and a discretionary annual bonus.
Responsibilities
- Apply a software engineering approach to scaling, workflow automation, and resilience challenges
- Construct and maintain internal observability tools and drive reliability initiatives
- Design observable and resilient networking infrastructure across multiple regions
- Partner with other departments on autonomous production systems and deployments
- Provide technical guidance across the stack regarding deployment, configuration, routing, monitoring, and scalability
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate project delivery while maintaining technical standards
- Mentor and lead team members
- Take part in an on-call schedule
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building business-critical software in a fast-paced environment
- Experience resolving complex technical challenges such as high-traffic onsales, inventory tracking, and event matching
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and serverless compute platforms
- Experience utilizing continuous integration, delivery, testing, and code deployment
- Experience applying observability tools to drive performance improvements and forecast growth
- Background in enhancing system architecture, diagnosing limitations, and executing evidence-based recommendations
