Job Description
Houst is hiring a senior software engineer to work remotely from Georgia on a contractor basis. The company operates thousands of short-let properties in more than 20 cities. Its platform automates listings, round-the-clock guest messaging, dynamic pricing, housekeeping and upkeep scheduling, and payouts, and it connects with partners such as Airbnb and Booking.com. The engineering team is based in London and Kraków.
The position is an individual contributor job without managerial duties. Python backend work comes first, followed by React and React Native frontends. The engineer carries features from start to finish alongside product, operations and growth colleagues. Heavy, deliberate use of AI tools is expected, including planning with them, producing and checking code, and spotting when their output is unreliable.
The company treats AI as central to daily engineering work and measures what it gains. The engineer will help set the bar for continuous integration, code review, test automation, monitoring and safe releases on AWS, and will keep third-party links dependable. Pairing with product and operations to solve real hosting problems is part of the job, as is mentoring the wider team through review.
Candidates should have at least six years of professional software development, deep hands-on Python experience and solid React skills. Running production systems well is important. The fee is USD 4,500 to 6,000 per month, excluding VAT, and the work is entirely remote with some crossover into UK time. The company covers the cost of modern AI tools.
