NVIDIA seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Telemetry Platform team and develop distributed systems capable of processing high volumes of data from millions of users worldwide. This remote position involves designing and maintaining scalable real-time services, managing end-to-end data ingestion durability, and guiding the architecture for data collection and schema management.
The role suits an experienced backend engineer with a strong background in modern Java who wants to tackle complex infrastructure challenges at scale. Responsibilities include conducting design reviews, authoring technical documentation, mentoring peers, and participating in an on-call rotation for production services.

Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and optimize real-time, high-throughput services to ingest, validate, and route global telemetry events
- Ensure end-to-end ingestion durability through delivery guarantees, backpressure, persistent buffering, and graceful degradation
- Direct the architecture of the data collection platform, encompassing schema management and shared configuration, metrics, and tracing libraries
- Facilitate design reviews, produce documentation, and mentor fellow engineers
- Manage production services through an shared on-call rotation and incident handling procedures
Requirements
- Seven or more years of experience developing backend services in production
- Comprehensive expertise in modern Java 17+ and Spring Boot, including the Java Memory Model, performance profiling, and concurrency
- Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, covering microservices, event-driven architectures, failure management, and delivery semantics
- Background operating large-scale services using Docker, Kubernetes, and message brokers like Apache Kafka on major cloud providers such as AWS
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production observability
- Familiarity with agentic engineering and AI coding agents
- Fluency in English
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Production background utilizing reactive and non-blocking Java technologies such as Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor, and Netty
- Prior exposure to high-volume data ingestion, telemetry, or analytics systems
- Experience handling event data schema registries, validation, and compatible evolution
- Knowledge of security and privacy principles including OAuth 2.0, JWT, network security, cloud security, and regulations like GDPR
