Striveworks seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Secret Clearance Eligible) to join its team. Founded in 2018, the company delivers operational AI systems designed to maintain performance, manage drift, and support models after deployment. This position plays a core role in guiding company direction and contributing to development themes like cloud-neutral development, user-centric design, microservices architecture, and everything as code.

Candidates have the option to work fully remotely or in a hybrid or on-site capacity at the company location in northwest Austin, Texas, with roughly 10 percent travel required. Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to company direction and development themes including cloud-neutral development and user-centric design
- Work cross-functionally and take part in or lead design discussions
- Independently lead the full software development life cycle from requirements gathering to execution, technical design, implementation, and deployment
- Share knowledge and mentor colleagues through onboarding, code reviews, and leadership of junior engineers
- Optimize, deploy, and refine AI models and algorithms
Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of hands-on development experience
- Excellence in Go, C++ 17 or higher, Java 11 or higher, C# 9 or higher, or Rust
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with DevOps technologies such as CI, CD, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience with cloud architecture including commercial cloud and OpenStack
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational database design and architecture
- Strong foundation in software development principles like object-oriented programming, design patterns, documentation, and agile methodologies
- US citizenship along with eligibility and willingness to secure a Secret US security clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Expertise in synchronous and asynchronous programming alongside concurrency
- Familiarity with integrating deep learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Experience building RESTful, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs
- Expertise in distributed and networked computing
- Experience utilizing messaging systems like NATS, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
- Familiarity with workflow automation
- Active Secret or higher US security clearance
