Job Description

Trase is hiring a Senior or Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join its dedicated support team serving Red Cell Federal, Red Cell Partners, and related portfolio companies. Trase provides an end-to-end platform for deploying, managing, and optimizing enterprise AI, specializing in agentic applications for complex sectors such as healthcare, oil and gas, and national security.

In this hands-on role, you will own the entire lifecycle of software development from initial requirements through production support. You will build responsive user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and integrations while ensuring alignment with federal security controls and deployment environments. Senior-level engineers independently manage complex features and partner integrations, whereas Staff-level engineers also define architecture across engagements, establish reusable engineering patterns, and mentor colleagues.

This position requires collaboration with partner engineers, product teams, technical program managers, DevOps and SRE engineers, and governance, risk, and compliance personnel. Some customer travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack features for partners, spanning responsive UIs, admin tools, backend services, data models, and production integrations
  • Partner with engineers and product leads to clarify use cases, reproduce issues, establish acceptance criteria, and deliver scoped increments
  • Coordinate scope, dependencies, and risks with technical program managers before committing dates
  • Integrate applications and agents with Trase OS APIs and SDKs, external APIs, MCP tools, and model-provider endpoints
  • Construct reliable agent and workflow integrations involving asynchronous execution, event streaming, state handling, retries, timeouts, and error recovery
  • Build user interfaces for configuring agents, managing connections and policies, reviewing runs, and inspecting logs, traces, costs, and audit history
  • Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access, secrets integration, and audit events across frontend and backend services
  • Collaborate with governance, risk, and compliance on application security findings and federal requirements
  • Adapt application configuration and dependencies for customer-managed cloud, private-network, and on-premises environments
  • Verify application behavior through automated testing, code reviews, and target environment evaluations prior to partner handoff
  • Diagnose and resolve reported defects across the UI, APIs, SDK, data stores, and runtime services
  • Support software releases, upgrades, and maintenance, including federal deployments such as Second Front
  • Document system architecture, setup instructions, limitations, and troubleshooting procedures for partners

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a history of shipping production applications
  • 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience covering modern web frontends, backend services, APIs, and databases
  • Proficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript and React, Next.js, or equivalent frameworks
  • Backend engineering experience using Python, TypeScript or Node.js, Go, Java, or similar languages
  • Experience designing relational database data models, migrations, caching, and event-driven processing
  • Experience implementing production authentication, authorization, secure API access, secrets handling, and audit logging
  • Practical background in automated testing, code reviews, Git, containers, CI/CD, and cloud or Kubernetes deployments

Qualifications

  • Prior full-stack software engineering experience supporting national security, defense, federal agencies, or government programs
  • Active U.S. government security clearance
  • Familiarity with federal application security and delivery guidelines including STIG hardening, NIST controls, RMF or ATO evidence, FedRAMP, or DoD impact levels
  • Experience integrating identity providers like Keycloak via OAuth or OIDC
  • Background building AI or LLM applications, agent integrations, RAG, tool or MCP connections, evaluations, or workflow systems such as Temporal
  • Customer-facing or forward-deployed engineering experience across multiple partner organizations
  • Experience adapting applications for government cloud, restricted networks, or on-premises environments like Second Front
