Job Description

Convene Hospitality Group runs a set of lifestyle brands and builds hospitality venues where groups gather, from compact corporate gatherings to experiential brand events. This remote Senior or Staff Product Engineer role sits in its Technology team and works across the brand portfolio to modernize customer-facing experiences and the internal systems that keep the company running.

Engineers here take ownership of features from front end to back end, covering APIs, business logic and data layers, and carry them from concept through launch and afterward. A major piece of the work is designing how brands, apps and enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and NetSuite connect, then building those links. The company is still early in using AI-driven development, so the job involves using AI agents for research, prototypes, testing, refactors and docs, and sharing those habits with colleagues. Staff-level hires shape architecture and technology decisions across the portfolio.

Senior candidates need six or more years of experience building production software; Staff candidates need nine or more years, including ownership of architecture across systems. A solid grounding in relational data and SQL is needed, along with attention to testing, accessibility, input checks and sign-in security, and the ability to explain tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-engineers. The anticipated base salary is $150,000 to $200,000, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus. Level and title are matched to each person's experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of features spanning the interface, server, APIs, business rules and data layer
  • Plan how brands, apps and enterprise systems like Salesforce and NetSuite connect
  • Build integrations that tie systems together while protecting customer, employee and financial data
  • Convert vague requests into technical plans and deliverable chunks of work
  • Use AI agents for research, prototyping, implementation, testing and writing docs, then verify the results
  • Improve the codebase through tests, monitoring, documentation and sound structure
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, onboarding and mentoring

Requirements

  • Six or more years of production software experience (Senior), or nine-plus years including ownership of architecture across several systems (Staff)
  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL, including data modeling, transaction handling and migration work
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as warehouses and pipelines
  • Attention to testing, accessibility, validation, authentication, authorization and common web threats
  • Hands-on use of AI agents for multi-step tasks, with clear specs and verification of results
  • Ability to explain decisions, risks and tradeoffs clearly
  • Preference for simple, maintainable solutions

Qualifications

  • Launched a feature powered by a large language model and tracked its quality
  • Built out MCP servers, repository guidance, reusable skills or automated reviews for an AI-assisted codebase
  • Work with Salesforce, NetSuite or HR information systems
  • Event-driven architecture or reverse ETL
  • AWS or similar cloud experience, plus infrastructure as code
  • Hospitality, events, real estate or other multi-location business background

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Health coverage starting on day one for employees and families, with 24/7 virtual care
  • Emotional well-being support, fertility and family planning benefits
  • Flexible PTO, a birthday off, new-parent leave and a closure over the year-end holidays
  • 401(k) with a company match
  • Tuition, course and certification support
  • Recognition programs and volunteer or giving opportunities
