Mattermost provides a collaborative workflow platform utilized across security, defense, and critical infrastructure sectors. The company is currently hiring a Senior Technical Account Manager (Federal) to act as a technical advisor for U.S. Federal and enterprise accounts.
In this position, you will direct successful platform setups, integrations, and secure operations within high-security environments. You will connect product, engineering, and customer teams to guarantee scalable, compliant implementations. This role suits professionals with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage technical onboarding, configuration, and production deployments for U.S. Federal and strategic enterprise clients
- Architect secure and scalable Mattermost deployments across air-gapped, cloud, on-premise, and hybrid setups
- Assist with security and compliance standards including NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, SOC 2, and DoD STIG
- Help clients integrate the platform with identity management tools, DevOps pipelines, and monitoring software
- Deliver proactive technical advice to reduce operational risks
- Act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts and collaborate with support and engineering teams
- Create reusable deployment assets such as scripts, playbooks, and technical guides
- Present technical details to both engineering and executive audiences
Requirements
- Senior-level background in Technical Account Management, Customer Success Engineering, Sales Engineering, or similar technical client-facing functions
- Familiarity with Linux administration, networking, cloud infrastructure, and containers like Docker and Kubernetes
- Hands-on coding experience using languages such as Python, Go, or Node.js
- Understanding of secure architecture and cybersecurity principles
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools including Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and Jira
- Experience handling large enterprise or government accounts while aligning technology with business requirements
- Eligibility to access export-controlled data under ITAR and EAR regulations
Qualifications
- Background working alongside defense organizations, U.S. Federal agencies, or other regulated sectors
- Familiarity with IT Service Management frameworks
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or FedRAMP
- Experience utilizing open-source technologies or secure collaboration platforms
- Exposure to mobile device management tools such as Workspace ONE, Intune, or MobileIron
- Background in a high-growth SaaS or startup setting
