Job Description

Function is seeking a Senior Trust and Safety Manager to establish and oversee the Trust & Safety department protecting its mobile field workforce. Function operates a preventive health platform, having acquired Getlabs, an at-home diagnostics provider. In this position, you will build the safety program entirely from scratch, ensuring that phlebotomists who enter member homes alone are thoroughly equipped and safeguarded. You will collaborate closely with the Legal, Privacy, People, Field Operations, and Product teams to analyze risks, author emergency response workflows, deploy security hardware like panic buttons and body cameras, and develop comprehensive field education training.

This opportunity is well-suited for a self-motivated, resourceful professional who excels in ambiguous and fast-paced settings. You should bring prior experience launching programs from zero, a meticulous eye for detail, and strong empathy for frontline employees. As the initial dedicated owner of this initiative, your contributions will directly dictate how a rapidly scaling field team is protected.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk discovery by mapping incident histories and field reports to propose a formal program plan
  • Direct the Trust & Safety roadmap, establishing milestones, launch dates, and continuing education schedules
  • Draft internal policies, escalation pathways, incident investigation standards, and post-incident review procedures
  • Evaluate, source, and roll out physical and internal safety tools such as body cameras, panic buttons, and vehicle checks
  • Develop and sustain the field education library through huddles, lunch-and-learns, and digital modules
  • Collaborate with Legal and Privacy to review data collection, monitoring, and recording procedures
  • Act as the primary escalation point for severe incidents, offering support and coordinating cross-functionally
  • Measure and report critical metrics including incident rates, response times, training completion, and workers compensation claims

Requirements

  • Possess at least six years of professional experience in trust and safety, EHS workplace safety, risk, corporate security, or field operations
  • Demonstrate a minimum of two years spent owning programs or leading people
  • Bring practical experience supporting a distributed, in-person workforce
  • Show a proven history of building a program completely from the ground up
  • Hold working knowledge regarding workplace safety, injury response, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers compensation
  • Demonstrate past collaboration with Legal and Privacy teams regarding sensitive monitoring or PII handling
  • Display excellent written communication abilities for creating policies, memos, and training materials

Qualifications

  • Prior background within healthcare, home health, mobile phlebotomy, logistics, or field services involving lone workers
  • Familiarity with lone-worker safety tech like dashcams, GPS check-ins, or fleet telematics
  • Relevant certifications such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or formal crisis de-escalation training
  • Experience developing LMS curriculum or education libraries to drive high completion rates
  • Exposure to multi-state employment laws, specifically regarding employee monitoring and recording consent

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary between USD 110,000 and 140,000
  • Valuable stock option plan
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Flexible and unlimited vacation policy
