NEC Software Solutions (India) seeks a Senior UX Designer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This remote or hybrid opportunity involves driving the user experience strategy and visual direction for critical control room software utilized by emergency services and public safety organizations. The role suits an experienced professional capable of balancing immediate delivery tasks with long-term experience enhancements across multiple Scrum teams.
As part of the NEC Digital Studio Product Design practice, the successful candidate will provide design leadership, mentorship, and hands-on creation of intricate workflows and user journeys. The organization builds technology that assists governments, hospitals, police forces, and housing providers in improving public services, managing emergency response, and supporting families.
This position requires an individual who can champion user-centered design, build robust stakeholder relationships, and maintain high standards of design quality. Responsibilities
- Lead the UX strategy and design direction for the control room software program
- Plan and coordinate design activities across multiple Scrum teams
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and critique to designers on the program
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and implementation-ready designs for complex user journeys
- Plan, conduct, and synthesize user research and usability testing
- Build relationships with customers and stakeholders through workshops and collaborative sessions
Requirements
- Significant experience designing complex enterprise, case management, or operational digital products
- Demonstrated portfolio showing measurable design outcomes
- Experience leading and supporting UX or Product Designers across multiple teams
- Strong hands-on expertise in user-centered design, wireframing, prototyping, and production-ready outputs
- Understanding of accessibility, inclusive design, and regulatory or compliance-driven environments
- Experience applying and evolving design systems like Material UI
- Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK with documentary evidence
Qualifications
- Experience working within public safety, emergency services, policing, fire, ambulance, justice, or similar operational settings
- Experience designing multi-screen products spanning various user roles and interconnected systems
- Familiarity with industry design systems such as Material Design or Human Interface Guidelines
- Experience utilizing AI-powered design, research, or prototyping tools
- Background in designing AI-enabled product experiences
