Enformion wants a Site Reliability Engineer who can keep its identity and contact data APIs and consumer-facing websites available, fast, and shielded from abusive traffic. This full-time remote job lives at the intersection of reliability and security work.
The SRE will watch uptime, latency and error rates across the APIs, set SLOs and alerts, and lead production incident response, including blameless post-incident reviews. The role also covers automation to cut down recurring manual work, and capacity planning and performance tuning across the CDN, the application stack, and data storage.
Traffic protection is a major part of the job. The engineer designs detection for harmful traffic, such as scrapers, malicious bots, credential attacks, bogus sign-ups, and API key misuse, and tunes CDN and WAF settings, bot defenses, and throttling so real users and clients are not slowed or blocked. The role also includes infrastructure security, such as infrastructure as code, least-privilege access, centralized logging, and security checks in CI/CD pipelines, and it involves collaborating with engineers, marketers, product managers, and legal/compliance staff. Responsibilities
- Track uptime, latency, and error rates on every Enformion API
- Set SLOs and alerts that flag issues before customers notice them
- Own troubleshooting and fixes when production incidents hit
- Hold blame-free post-incident retrospectives and push follow-ups until they are finished
- Script away repetitive ops tasks and routine fixes to cut manual effort
- Forecast capacity and improve speed at the CDN, application, and data layers
- Design detection for harmful traffic, such as scrapers, malicious bots, credential attacks, bogus sign-ups, and API key misuse
- Adjust CDN and WAF settings, bot management, and rate limits so genuine users keep smooth access
- Study traffic logs to learn how abusers behave, how they avoid controls, and what they cost
- Partner with the data abuse team, converting its findings into controls at the edge and in applications
- Put acceptable-use and service-terms rules into effect in the infrastructure layer
- Run infrastructure as code and enforce IAM with minimal rights, segmented networks, TLS, and secrets handling on AWS
- Work with the DevSecOps Lead to add dependency, container, and config scanning into CI/CD
- Detect and fix configuration drift, and provide automated control evidence for audits and client questionnaires
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computing or a nearby technical field, or comparable hands-on experience
- At least three years working on attack mitigation, particularly bot, scraping, and app-layer threats
- Practical work with Akamai, Cloudflare, or Fastly, including their WAF and bot tooling and traffic handling
- Experience using Elastic/OpenSearch or a similar system to analyze logs
- Comfortable with networking basics: DNS, TLS, HTTP, and TCP/IP
- Linux server work and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or a comparable language
- Has run live systems on a public cloud platform
Qualifications
- Infrastructure as code, such as Terraform
- Has wired security tools into CI/CD pipelines
- Familiar with containers and orchestration, plus basic container security
- Observability tooling such as Datadog
- Has defended busy commercial APIs against misuse
- Knows SLOs, error budgets, and how to run incidents
- Familiarity with control frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001
