Job Description
SilverSky is a cybersecurity firm with more than two decades in the field and over 300 employees. Its security operations center watches client environments around the clock, every day of the year, with a focus on organizations facing sophisticated, targeted attacks. This entry-level SOC Analyst L1 position is remote and open only to people living in Guam or Hawaii. US citizenship is required, and the posting states that sponsorship for work authorization is not offered.
Analysts serve as the first point of contact for client security questions. Daily work includes reviewing alerts from intrusion detection, anomaly detection, firewall, and SIEM logs to find attacks and threats. Analysts pass security events and change requests to whichever department owns them, support first-line incident response for large enterprises, and make sure intrusions and compromises reach IT, network, or security staff in time. They also help senior analysts put countermeasures and containment controls in place, and they are expected to suggest ways to make operations more effective.
The job calls for flexibility to work shifts in a service that never closes, along with clear written and spoken communication, strong customer service habits, and close attention to detail.
