Modea is hiring a Software Engineer to take on an advanced role combining independent technical delivery with mentoring and client collaboration. This position is suited for professionals with a strong background in software engineering who can work autonomously, manage client expectations, and guide junior developers.
Modea operates in a remote environment within specific states and also maintains modern offices in Blacksburg, VA, allowing for remote, fully-office, or hybrid work experiences. Team members may occasionally travel for client visits or training. The company offers tools for both home and office settings and participates in E-Verify while being an equal opportunity employer.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to identify client requirements
- Participate in and sometimes lead standard process ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Produce well-designed, testable, and efficient code under close supervision
- Ensure code meets security, quality, and accessibility standards
- Integrate software components into fully functional systems
- Deploy applications to internal and external environments
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software
- Mentor junior developers on project and functional teams
- Develop technical documentation for future projects, team onboarding, or client hand-off
- Lead the engineering portion of project discovery phases and inform project schedules
Requirements
- Approximately five years of relevant engineering experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to remain stationary during the workday and constantly operate a computer
- Capability to converse and exchange information with clients and coworkers both in person and via computer
- Ability to occasionally transport items of 10 lbs or less
Qualifications
- Experience developing applications for Content Management Systems
- Familiarity with Sitecore
