DevRev is hiring a remote Software Engineer focused on Applied AI, operating specifically in a Forward Deployed Engineering capacity. The company builds a platform combining data sources, workflows, and tools into a single system supported by an AI teammate known as Computer. Supported by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield with over $150 million raised, the organization serves global clients across multiple industries.
In this position, approximately seventy to eighty percent of the schedule is dedicated to coding and technical execution, while roughly thirty percent involves direct interaction with customers. The daily work includes designing and launching AI agents, connecting the platform with external systems via webhooks and APIs, optimizing artificial intelligence accuracy, and writing SQL queries to generate actionable dashboards. Team members also build knowledge graphs, develop rapid proofs-of-concept, and guide clients through configurations and integrations. Travel of up to thirty percent is required for on-site implementation sessions, technical workshops, and customer meetings.
Responsibilities
- Design and launch AI agents, integrations, and automations linking the platform to existing tech stacks
- Connect SaaS and non-SaaS platforms through APIs, webhooks, and real-time communication architectures
- Apply prompt engineering, fine-tune semantic search engines, and utilize generative AI techniques
- Write SQL queries, execute data analysis, and construct dashboards for client decision-making
- Develop rapid proofs-of-concept and conduct live technical demonstrations
- Coordinate continuously with customers alongside engineering, product, customer success, support, and revenue departments
- Guide clients through critical workflows such as code repository integrations
- Travel up to thirty percent for on-site implementations and customer workshops
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of background in software development, platform engineering, or systems integration
- Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, algorithms, and data structures
- Familiarity with large language models, prompt engineering, RAG frameworks, and function calling
- Experience with large-scale data synchronization, REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and pub/sub architectures
- Hands-on background deploying on serverless and edge platforms like AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions
- Knowledge of data mapping, schema alignment, graph data structures, and data modeling
- Experience implementing logging, telemetry, and error surfacing for debugging
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Prior customer-facing experience
- Familiarity with the Go programming language
- Experience with Model Context Programming for adaptive integrations
