In this hybrid role, typically requiring three days on-site per week, the successful candidate will join the Core BI engineering team to build and maintain the backend services, application programming interfaces, and infrastructure powering business intelligence tools across DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt. Responsibilities span the entire product lifecycle, from initial discovery and system design to implementation, deployment, and production support. Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend services, application programming interfaces, and automation tools supporting business intelligence platforms
- Automate the full platform lifecycle including provisioning, metadata management, permissions, migrations, archival, and validation
- Construct system integrations connecting business intelligence platforms with data warehouses, identity providers, orchestration layers, and developer tooling
- Maintain and enhance system availability, observability, performance, scalability, and security in production
- Develop language model-backed capabilities adhering to strict reliability and governance standards
- Elevate team engineering standards through service design, code reviews, testing protocols, and documentation improvements
Requirements
- Three or more years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend, platform, or infrastructure systems
- Ability to write readable, maintainable, and well-tested code in Python
- Working familiarity with SQL, data modelling, and warehousing concepts
- Demonstrated history of building and maintaining application programming interfaces, integrations, or automation in production environments
- Practical experience with continuous integration and deployment, containerization, Kubernetes, system observability, debugging, and incident response
- Hands-on use of artificial intelligence tools such as language models and agentic workflows
Qualifications
- Experience managing or integrating with business intelligence software such as Looker or Sigma
- Familiarity with semantic layers such as LookML or dbt
- Background in automating identity and access management via Okta, System for Cross-domain Identity Management, or role-based access controls
- Experience creating multi-tenant platforms across multiple brands and geographic regions
- Prior deployment of features backed by language models to real users, including retrieval, grounding, evaluation, Model Context Protocol, or agent frameworks
