GHX India is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Rules and Actions team. This role focuses on designing, building, and delivering software solutions that power the core rules engine of the GHX Exchange platform. The platform handles healthcare supply chain transactions, evaluating routing and business rules against document events.
The person in this position will build and enhance features within the rules execution service, implement rule types and actions, and support event-driven systems backed by technologies like MongoDB and EventBus. Responsibilities also include writing unit tests with JUnit 5 and Mockito, participating in monolith decoupling, and performing Java version migrations under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software features
- Translate technical ideas into high-quality code with senior guidance
- Contribute to technical design, document work, and adhere to IT control policies
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to resolve dependencies and review ideas
- Analyze and independently resolve issues of limited scope
- Write JUnit 5 and Mockito tests while assisting with monolith decoupling and Java migrations
- Build and enhance features within the rules execution service and shared rules framework
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional software development experience
- At least 2 years of experience developing solutions using Java and J2EE technologies including Spring and Maven
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum environments
- Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks and collaboratively in a team
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies, with AWS experience in EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, or Lambda considered a plus
- Database experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or MySQL
- Exposure to rules engines and event-driven architectures such as publish-subscribe messaging
- Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to learn emerging technologies
- Experience with database migration tools like Liquibase
- Knowledge of feature flags or configuration services
- Interest in healthcare, supply chain, or EDI and B2B document exchange
