Zwift is hiring a remote Software Engineer for a full-time position within eligible US locations. The compensation ranges from $86,500 to $135,000 per year, accompanied by performance bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. In this role, the engineer will help rebuild Zwift.com into a modern, reliable growth platform.
The chosen candidate will collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver features improving subscription management, prospecting experiences, e-commerce stores, and the main web platform. Key tasks involve executing an incremental migration of the site to a supported architecture starting with acquisition and authentication journeys, improving rendering, caching, performance, observability, CI/CD, analytics, SEO, and accessibility. The engineer will also establish technical foundations alongside designers, producers, engineers, artists, QA, and product managers to support the fitness community.
Responsibilities
- Build features spanning microservice backends, the website client, e-commerce platforms, subscription management platforms, and admin tooling
- Design and maintain high-performance, reusable code across multiple programming languages and platforms
- Establish web platform foundations including rendering strategies, CDN behavior, API access patterns, CI-CD, observability, and automated testing
- Create reusable page templates, structured content models, and CMS integrations for self-service publishing
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming, and the interview process
- Handle on-call support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for team-owned services
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans
- Utilize AI-assisted development thoughtfully for tasks like codebase analysis, test generation, and documentation
- Scope and plan projects alongside engineers and product managers
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript or TypeScript and a component-based frontend framework like React
- Familiarity with web performance, accessibility, analytics instrumentation, and SEO fundamentals
- Experience with software engineering best practices such as automated testing, monitoring, and continuous integration
- Production troubleshooting and on-call experience
- Residency in an eligible US location for remote work
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline
- Proficiency in additional development technologies such as Java and Kotlin
- Experience with web development, frontend architecture, cloud-based microservices, or event sourcing
- Experience with server-rendered or hybrid web frameworks, with Next.js strongly preferred
- Experience working with Kubernetes and containerization
- Experience shipping cross-platform applications for iOS, tvOS, Android, Mac, or PC
