Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver features independently from start to finish
- Design, test, build, refactor, and scale backend code for consumer features
- Partner with mobile teams to construct dependable APIs for consumer mobile applications
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address consumer needs and develop technical solutions
- Enhance system reliability, maintainability, and scalability
- Raise and uphold engineering standards alongside team members
Requirements
- Have at least three years of experience building and running production software at scale
- Bring working knowledge of Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks for building and managing APIs
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of relational databases, caching, and secure schema migrations
- Show familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as retries, async processing, idempotency, and backfills
- Maintain a commitment to writing clean, well-tested code and improving legacy systems
- Possess cross-functional communication abilities to clarify requirements and handle tradeoffs
