Syms Strategic Group, LLC is hiring a full-time Software Testing Principal with Edifecs expertise to support the Veterans Affairs department. This remote position offers a salary range of $85,389 to $116,975 per year. Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply for this role. The selected professional will develop testing strategies, create test scripts, review workflows with leadership teams, and execute evaluations to ensure that information technology systems operate properly and remain defect-free.
The role involves analyzing test outcomes, documenting complex problem resolutions, devising procedural improvements, and generating daily metrics reports. The ideal candidate brings extensive background in software testing and possesses strong analytical, communication, and technical problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures for information systems products and services
- Write test cases and scripts while identifying data for test scenarios
- Conduct walkthroughs of test scripts with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads
- Perform and lead software and IT systems testing to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
- Document and communicate test results while supporting issue resolution
- Devise procedure improvements and create daily test metrics and reporting
- Provide technical solutions and guidance to employees based on established policies
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Proven track record working on complex software projects
- Experience in both manual and automated testing
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript
- Experience with defect tracking and management tools like JIRA and Bugzilla
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to possess or qualify for a Public Trust MBI security clearance
Qualifications
- Deep hands-on Edifecs experience in Electronic Data Interchange X.12 transactions standards
- Advanced certifications in testing or quality assurance such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
