The Codest, an international technology software company with development hubs in Poland, is seeking a Solution and Fullstack Engineer for a remote position. The company specializes in web development, DevOps, cloud engineering, and quality assurance, and is known for building digital products and scaling IT engineering teams. In this role, the engineer will join an AI-first team building a banking application for a major financial group in Japan, working on a cross-asset post-trade execution platform that handles large volumes of financial data, trade matching, and position reporting.
This position is well-suited for a software professional experienced in building end-to-end digital solutions who wants to work with modern technologies and incorporate AI-driven tools into everyday development workflows. The selected candidate will help shape technical directions, build responsive user interfaces, develop backend APIs, and optimize database architectures.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications utilizing Python or Python and Java on the backend alongside JavaScript on the frontend
- Develop responsive user interfaces and connect them to backend services and APIs
- Create scalable backend components and APIs
- Own technical solutions across the entire lifecycle from initial requirements through deployment
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL database structures, views, functions, and queries
- Utilize AI-powered coding assistants and development tools to accelerate delivery and enhance code quality
- Build prototypes and test technical concepts quickly
- Take part in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural discussions
- Collaborate with international teams to convert business needs into technical solutions
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English
- Minimum of five years of commercial software engineering experience, focusing on backend or fullstack development
- Professional background using Python or Python and Java
- Practical knowledge of JavaScript and frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular
- Understanding of distributed systems, REST APIs, and fullstack architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL database optimization and design
- Familiarity with clean code methodology and object-oriented programming
- Hands-on practice using AI-assisted development solutions such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications
- Previous experience building applications for financial services, fintech, or banking
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience working with Docker containers
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with TypeScript and modern frontend architectures
- Experience with event-driven systems and microservices
- Background in agentic coding workflows or AI-driven development automation
- Experience defining technical solutions and contributing to architectural choices from scratch
