Baseten is currently seeking a Solutions Architect, EMEA to join its remote team. In this position, the professional will collaborate alongside the sales department to connect business challenges with technical answers, execute technical evaluations, and steer structured deployments and proofs of value for clients. Baseten builds a platform that engineers use to deploy artificial intelligence products, powering critical inference operations for dynamic AI organizations such as Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. The company recently secured a Series F funding round led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital.
This opportunity is designed for entrepreneurial, client-facing technology experts who want direct insight into how organizations adopt artificial intelligence at scale. The ideal candidate enjoys participating in technical discovery, solution architecture, software demonstrations, deployment planning, and direct client implementations while working closely with both sales and engineering groups. Team members gain exposure to numerous machine learning startups, providing valuable learning and networking prospects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales on client discovery meetings, predominantly leading second calls or initial calls for large accounts
- Run demonstrations and technical scoping to establish success metrics, system architecture, and deployment strategies
- Manage benchmarking and repeatable deployments across various modalities including large language models, embeddings, image and video generation, and voice artificial intelligence
- Advise clients on infrastructure decisions such as hardware comparisons and latency versus throughput configurations
- Build repeatable deployment frameworks for standard models and use cases
- Operate runtimes like vLLM, SGLang, and TRT-LLM while understanding their configurations and performance tradeoffs
- Oversee proofs of concept and project execution by aligning stakeholders on timelines, deliverables, and next steps
- Serve as the project manager for proofs of concept and coordinate forward deployed engineering assistance for complex technical tasks
Requirements
- Background in artificial intelligence and machine learning with the ability to discuss related topics credibly with technical stakeholders
- Strong communication skills for client-facing environments, including conducting structured discovery and refining unclear requirements
- Technical depth required to scope solutions without needing to write production code
- Ability to script and prototype as necessary, including comfort with rapid prototyping workflows
Qualifications
- Experience executing or supporting benchmarks for machine learning inference deployments
- Familiarity with infrastructure decisions impacting inference performance and expenses, including graphics processing unit selection and performance tuning
- Experience acting as a cross-functional technical lead for client proofs of concept across sales and engineering
