Accela is seeking a Sr. Consultant to join the Professional Services team on a remote, full-time basis. For nearly two decades, Accela has provided cloud-based software solutions to help government agencies improve efficiency, transparency, and citizen engagement. In this customer-facing role, the Sr. Consultant bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by facilitating requirements gathering, managing project scope, and performing hands-on configuration.
The successful candidate will guide customers through implementation, design business process flows, and ensure alignment across cross-functional groups. This position suits professionals with a strong background in business analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and enterprise software configuration.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions such as workshops and interviews with client stakeholders
- Document and validate functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, and dependencies
- Create current-state and future-state business process flows to identify gaps and shape solution design
- Configure enterprise software systems according to requirements and established best practices
- Coordinate with technical, integration, and data teams to clarify technical requirements
- Guide customers toward standard solutions while balancing technical limits and project scope
- Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor scope, handle change control, and spot risks early
- Assist with user acceptance testing planning, defect resolution, and go-live readiness activities
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in business analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and requirements gathering within complex implementations
- Experience creating and utilizing current-state and future-state business process flows
- Practical experience configuring enterprise software platforms based on discovery findings
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across cross-functional technical teams
- Familiarity with documenting requirements through user stories, use cases, or process modeling
- Written and verbal communication skills capable of influencing business and technical audiences
- Ability to manage project scope and support change control discussions
Qualifications
- Prior professional services or consulting background, with Big 5 consulting experience being an advantage
- Domain expertise in the government or public sector
- Experience mentoring or coaching other consultants on customer engagement and documentation standards
- Background in documenting cross-functional workflows for technical design and integration
