Precision Medicine Group seeks a full-time Sr Manager, Operational Finance to operate in a hybrid capacity combining financial support for operational project teams with month-end close duties. This professional will design and implement project financial processes, manage financial metrics for leadership, and supervise financial analysts. The position requires someone capable of collaborating with intercompany finance teams, assisting clinical trial project teams, and handling revenue recognition, forecasting, and variance analysis. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing work orders, change order budgets, and contract documents while also leading financial aspects of quarterly business reviews.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and train financial analysts across all project finance areas
- Design and implement project financial processes to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Deliver monthly financial metrics including revenue recognition, forecasting, and variance analysis to executive leadership
- Partner with intercompany finance teams to align on project budgets, monthly revenue, and backlog
- Assist project teams with financial tasks related to clinical trials
- Contribute to monthly invoicing worksheets and revenue recognition source documentation
- Conduct variance analysis comparing forecasted and actual revenue
- Review work orders and change orders against actual activities to spot out-of-scope work
- Perform monthly earned value analyses alongside project managers and directors
- Lead financial discussions at client quarterly business reviews and monthly project meetings
- Support contract document reviews and collaborate with the finance team on timely reporting
- Answer executive inquiries regarding financial results and ad hoc project analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
- At least eight years of project finance experience including working knowledge of project budgets, financial project management support, earned value analysis, and contract review
- Direct experience working with sponsors
- Industry experience within a contract research organization
Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration degree
- Certified Public Accountant designation
- Experience with QuickBooks
