Job Description
Elastic is seeking a Senior Salesforce Engineer and DevOps Specialist for a full-time, on-site position in the United States. The engineer serves as the technical spine of the company's Salesforce environment, pairing hands-on platform work with release management. The posting looks for someone who reasons clearly about architecture, writes tidy code, debugs efficiently, and works fluently with AI-assisted development.
Much of the day is DevOps. The engineer manages how releases move through the lifecycle, handling GitHub administration, git automation, branch strategy, pipeline tuning, scratch org and sandbox upkeep, backup planning and release governance. Deployment checkpoints and monitoring data help the team see how efficient the pipelines are and whether releases are healthy.
Beyond operations, the engineer designs and ships whole Salesforce features, from the interface and service layer to business rules, data structures and integrations. Tooling includes LWC, Apex, SOQL and SOSL, Flows, and REST or event-based designs. Technical direction extends to Certinia PSA, CPQ and Revenue Cloud (ARM), and to larger enterprise programs that affect revenue operations.
AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot are part of everyday work, but the engineer keeps close watch over the quality and security of anything they generate. The ideal person brings more than five years of end-to-end software engineering, strong Salesforce and deployment expertise, and a technical degree, and is motivated to lift the engineering bar for the team.
Responsibilities
- Run DevOps day to day, covering GitHub administration, git automation and the branching approach
- Tune CI/CD pipelines and manage scratch orgs, sandboxes and backups
- Define release rules and deployment checkpoints, and track how efficient pipelines are and how healthy releases look
- Design and ship full Salesforce features in LWC, Apex, SOQL/SOSL and Flows, including integrations
- Lead technical design work on Certinia PSA, CPQ/ARM and company-wide programs
- Use AI coding tools throughout development and review their output for quality and security
Requirements
- Over five years building software end to end, covering client-side, server-side, API and data-model work
- Strong Salesforce platform development, plus deep experience with Git workflows, GitHub Actions and CI/CD for enterprise releases
- Everyday use of AI-assisted tools for scaffolding, refactoring and debugging
- Working knowledge of design patterns, the software development lifecycle, sandbox management and metadata deployment
- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computing, engineering or information systems, or a related field
Qualifications
- Hands-on work with Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado or Gearset
- Real-world exposure to Certinia PSA, Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud (ARM), whether building or administering them
- Holding the Deployment Architect credential for the Salesforce development lifecycle
- The posting names several platform credentials (developer, administrator and App Builder levels, plus Copado and Certinia PSA Administrator) both as bonus items and as requirements, so confirm which apply
