Addepar, a global data and AI platform company serving investment professionals worldwide, is seeking a Sr. Security Operations Manager to lead its Global Security Operations team within the Information Security and Risk organization. This fully remote position involves overseeing day-to-day threat detection and incident response, acting as incident commander during security events, and partnering with an external 24/7 Managed Security Services Provider. The person in this role will guide a globally distributed team, shape the company detection strategy, manage SIEM environment health, and modernize operations through AI and automation (AIOps).
This role is well-suited for a hands-on security leader who remains calm under pressure, brings structure to ambiguous situations, and possesses extensive experience in security operations, threat detection, and incident response. Candidates must be capable of working core business hours in Eastern Time, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Addepar provides compensation consisting of a base salary ranging from USD 172,000 to 269,000 per year, alongside bonuses, equity, and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of the Global Security Operations team and act as incident commander for major security events
- Lead and mentor a globally distributed team, establish roadmaps and OKRs, and oversee on-call coverage across multiple time zones
- Oversee the partnership with the 24/7 Managed Security Services Provider, monitoring service quality, escalation paths, and vendor performance
- Manage the detection strategy, SIEM environment health, custom rule creation, alert tuning, and log source coverage expansion
- Drive the modernization of security operations by integrating AI and automation to streamline triage, investigation, and response
- Create and maintain incident response documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and training materials
- Manage post-incident tracking to ensure action items and root cause remediation are completed across engineering, infrastructure, and product teams
- Track and present key security operations metrics and KPIs in monthly reports to senior leadership
- Promote security awareness across the enterprise through tabletop exercises, training sessions, and talks
- Participate in a global on-call rotation to address critical security events outside regular business hours
Requirements
- Have at least 8 years of professional background in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of people management experience leading and developing security teams
- Possess demonstrated experience acting as an incident commander managing security events and workstreams
- Have hands-on investigation and response experience in Amazon Web Services cloud environments
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States on the first day of employment without current or future visa sponsorship
- Commit to working core business hours in Eastern Time from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience
