Job Description
MetroStar is hiring a full-time, remote Sr. ServiceNow Developer I to support the US Department of State. The position focuses on designing, building, configuring, and enhancing baseline and custom applications within ServiceNow, including Service Catalog items, workflows, and Service Portal experiences. This role suits professionals who can provide technical leadership, establish development standards, automate business processes using scripts and access controls, and maintain platform stability across multiple instances and domains. Qualified candidates will engage in Agile sprint planning, collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensure secure, sustainable solutions for federal clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and enhance custom ServiceNow applications, workflows, Service Catalog offerings, and Service Portal experiences
- Automate business processes by writing Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, ACLs, and workflows
- Collaborate with Department of State stakeholders, administrators, and technical teams to gather requirements and recommend solutions
- Advise the team on ServiceNow architecture, development standards, and platform capabilities as a senior technical resource
- Troubleshoot application issues, analyze system performance, and maintain stability across multiple instances and domains
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and technical reviews
- Support testing, deployment, and rollout of new applications while minimizing operational disruption
Requirements
- Hold an active Secret security clearance
- Have at least 5 years of ServiceNow Development experience, including Service Catalog and custom application creation
- Have at least 5 years of ServiceNow Consulting experience
- Have at least 3 years of Service Portal Development experience
- Verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the United States upon hire
