Job Description
Stacklok is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join the core platform team for Stacklok Enterprise. Founded by co-creators of Kubernetes, the company builds open, Kubernetes-native infrastructure that combines agent execution, secure tool access, and centralized controls for policy, identity, and permissions. In this role, you will design, build, and oversee major platform subsystems end to end, taking charge from technical design through production deployment and ongoing enhancement. You will write production Go code that operates reliably within client Kubernetes environments, incorporating built-in observability, error handling, and testing. Additionally, you will collaborate directly with enterprise customers as they transition from proof-of-concept to production, turning their feedback into platform improvements, contributing to the open-source ToolHive codebase, and mentoring fellow engineers on the team.
The position is remote and based in North America, with a strong preference for candidates living in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone. Candidates should possess a startup mindset, strong communication abilities, an AI-first development approach, and a history of designing and shipping distributed systems.

Requirements
- Proficiency in Go with a track record of designing and shipping complete production-grade distributed systems in a commercial software product
- Hands-on experience deploying and running applications on Kubernetes in production across different cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP

- Experience working directly with customers to onboard them, diagnose issues in their environments, and drive fixes into the codebase
- AI-first mindset with experience integrating AI tools into development practices and building repeatable velocity gains
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
