To support the growth of this advertising business, the organization is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for its Ads Data Science team. This remote position operates within a flexible workforce model.
This autonomous role suits an experienced data professional who can take deep ownership of complex problem spaces related to advertising measurement, identity, and signal quality. The individual will guide strategic direction and execute cross-functional initiatives across the advertising organization.
The person in this position will create probabilistic identity resolution models, manage statistical rigor for Brand and Conversion Lift products, determine strategies for new signal sources, and establish objective functions to train models. Success in this role requires close collaboration with engineering, product, and sales teams while maintaining high technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Design probabilistic models for identity resolution to link on-platform and off-platform actions
- Manage the statistical rigor behind Brand and Conversion Lift products and build large-scale experimentation infrastructure
- Define strategy for new signal sources and collaborate with modeling teams to improve bidding efficiency and return on ad spend
- Establish ground truth and evaluation frameworks to measure the incremental impact of the identity graph
- Partner with engineering, product, and sales teams to align on strategic objectives and mentor peers on technical best practices
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Operations Research
- Ten or more years of applied science or data science industry experience for Master's degree holders, or six or more years for Ph.D. holders
- Deep familiarity with the digital advertising ecosystem
- Demonstrated expertise in scale measurement and experimentation, identity graph methodology, or predictive modeling with signal loss
- Advanced proficiency in SQL alongside Python or R for statistical programming
- Background utilizing optimization or machine learning techniques
- Strong command of causal inference, experimental design, and A/B testing methodologies
