The Ads Data Science team seeks a Staff Data Scientist to focus on ads measurement, signals, and privacy in a fully remote position. This autonomous role directs high-impact projects within the advertising sector, targeting identity resolution, measurement systems, and signal quality. The position suits experienced applied scientists or data scientists who excel in fast-paced, ambiguous settings and possess deep expertise in the advertising ecosystem. Selected candidates will shape strategic priorities, establish rigorous technical standards, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across engineering, product management, and sales organizations.
Responsibilities
- Develop probabilistic models for identity resolution to link on-platform and off-platform actions while prioritizing user privacy
- Manage the statistical methodology supporting Brand and Conversion Lift products for advertisers
- Design experimental frameworks and infrastructure capable of executing large-scale, low-bias testing
- Establish strategies for identifying, quantifying, and integrating new signal sources into predictive models to enhance bidding efficiency and ROAS
- Formulate objective functions and ground truth sets required for model training and identity graph validation
- Collaborate alongside engineering, product, and sales teams to convert insights into execution
- Mentor team members and champion best practices spanning experimentation, modeling, and measurement
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Operations Research
- Ten or more years of industry experience in data science or applied science roles for Master of Science holders
- Six or more years of industry experience in data science or applied science roles for Ph.D. holders
- Deep familiarity with the digital advertising ecosystem
- Advanced proficiency in SQL alongside statistical programming languages like Python or R
- Working knowledge of optimization or machine learning techniques
- Comprehensive understanding of causal inference, experimental design, and A/B testing methodologies
Qualifications
- Expertise in measurement and scale experimentation with a concentration on attribution and lift
- Demonstrated experience in identity graph creation and resolution methods and infrastructure
- Proven track record in predictive modeling addressing signal loss
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities with experience influencing engineering and product stakeholders
