Vetcove seeks a Staff Developer Experience Engineer to join its fully remote team and accelerate software delivery using artificial intelligence. The organization operates a high-volume procurement marketplace, home delivery ecommerce network, and practice management system utilized by tens of thousands of veterinary hospitals across the country. In this hands-on position, the selected professional will own infrastructure, tooling, and workflows, working alongside engineering leadership and business departments to optimize how software goes from concept to production.
This role suits an experienced engineer who actively experiments with coding agents and modern developer utilities, aiming to eliminate manual friction and build an AI-native engineering organization. Candidates will collaborate directly with peers, design reliable deployment paths, and empower non-engineering groups to create applications safely. Responsibilities
- Design and optimize software development workflows incorporating artificial intelligence at every stage
- Integrate coding agents by providing proper context, tools, and feedback loops for complex engineering tasks
- Streamline continuous integration and deployment pipelines to eliminate slow tests and manual bottlenecks
- Automate repetitive engineering duties including triage, code review, testing, documentation, and releases
- Build infrastructure and connections allowing non-engineering teams to create and maintain proprietary applications
- Evaluate, introduce, and pilot new models, developer tools, and infrastructure across the organization
- Implement robust testing, permissions, sandboxing, and observability into daily workflows
- Collaborate directly with engineering staff to identify and remove productivity roadblocks
Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience utilizing coding agents and building workflows powered by artificial intelligence
- Solid software engineering background with practical experience operating and shipping production systems
- Track record of improving continuous integration, testing setups, internal tooling, and developer environments
- Familiarity with agent harnesses, agent software development kits, tool integrations, and associated infrastructure
- Practical experience working within a Python, Django, React, and TypeScript technology stack
- Ability to complete a background check successfully
