The Ads Creative Effectiveness team focuses on developing predictive and generative technology to assist advertisers in launching successful campaigns. In this role, the engineer will build generative products for ad creative, such as copy, image, and video generators that optimize performance and preserve brand safety.
This position is suited for a technical professional with deep generative AI expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment stemming from a startup acquisition. The role involves designing sophisticated creative pipelines, fine-tuning vision-language models, and integrating safety guardrails.
Reddit offers a remote work arrangement for this full-time position. Candidates will collaborate closely with product management, sales, user experience, and other machine learning teams to embed these capabilities directly into the Ad Manager user interface and ad delivery system.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy advanced generative pipelines for ad creative utilizing techniques such as LoRAs and IP-Adapters.
- Develop image and video editing tools for smart-cropping, inpainting, outpaint, resizing, and style transfer.
- Fine-tune large vision-language models using ad performance metrics via reinforcement learning approaches.
- Construct filtering and safety mechanisms to block non-compliant, unsafe, or copyright-infringing material.
- Coordinate with product, sales, policy, and user experience teams to embed capabilities into the Ad Manager interface.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on background with neural networks, ranking systems, tree models, and fine-tuning for advertising applications.
- Familiarity with quantitative experimentation setups, uplift metrics, variance, and minimum detectable effects.
- Knowledge of digital marketplace dynamics and advertiser requirements.
- Ability to explain complex machine learning trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
- Prior experience building ad creative tooling like headline generators, pre-test models, or editing workflows.
