The chosen professional will establish quality strategy, implement automated testing from scratch, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to ensure high data integrity.
The position suits an experienced quality engineer who can design automated checks for backend systems, event-driven streams, and data pipelines. Responsibilities include defining release metrics, measuring precision and recall, mitigating data lifecycle risks, and integrating artificial intelligence into testing workflows. The person in this role will guide developers on test planning and coach team members to elevate quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Establish the quality strategy for company reference data using a framework of quality by design and default automation
- Close testing gaps in critical workflows such as provider data ingestion, record matching, and event delivery
- Determine metrics for data accuracy by creating golden datasets, labeled samples, and automated verification checks
- Monitor match precision and recall while managing the trade-offs between false splits and false merges
- Build scalable automation spanning data, API, and event-driven interfaces across unit, component, and end-to-end layers
- Design regression tests to address data lifecycle risks including schema modifications, data drift, and conflicting records
- Collaborate with developers on feature test planning and incorporate artificial intelligence into test design and triage
- Leverage production insights to focus testing efforts on areas that reduce customer risk
Requirements
- More than 8 years of practical quality engineering experience, including strategy formulation for complex backend or data platforms
- Background in designing and automating tests for backend and data architectures, covering contract testing, API validation, and streaming interfaces like Kafka
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Ruby
- Expertise in test design across unit, API, and end-to-end layers
- Experience validating data correctness at scale within identity, matching, or pipeline-driven platforms
- Familiarity with continuous delivery, release quality gates, and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated history of utilizing artificial intelligence to accelerate engineering and testing processes
- Ability to operate autonomously, direct initiatives, and influence teams without formal authority
Qualifications
- Familiarity with data-operations tooling or data pipelines
- Practical end-to-end automation experience utilizing Playwright
- Background working with company, financial, or reference data
- Experience assessing the output of large language models or artificial intelligence
- Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant technical discipline
