This position focuses on driving deployment architecture, improving day-to-day delivery across an on-premise estate, and leading the transition to a new Kubernetes platform.
This role suits an autonomous professional who enjoys hands-on technical work rather than managing support tickets. The successful candidate will take charge of continuous integration and deployment pipelines, automated guardrails, and workload migration strategies. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with TechOps on incident response, establishing developer self-service guides, and building robust Kubernetes deployment workflows.
Applicants should possess strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative mindset, as teamwork is essential across different departments. Essential technical proficiencies include production-level Docker and Docker Compose, robust scripting capabilities in Bash and Python, and significant experience with Ansible automation. Responsibilities
- Utilize and contribute to Ansible-based deployment automation for product feature releases
- Monitor application health within clusters and collaborate with TechOps on incident response and post-mortems
- Create and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and developer self-service guides
- Collaborate with TechOps to shape engineering workflows, guardrails, and standards for Kubernetes primitives
- Establish application-level configurations for ingress, role-based access control, namespaces, and secrets management
- Partner with engineering teams to containerize and migrate existing workloads to Kubernetes
- Build CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes deployments utilizing tools like Helm, Kustomize, or ArgoCD
- Set up application-level metrics, logging, and alerting inside namespaces
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrable experience with Ansible roles, inventories, vault, and idempotency
- Comfort working with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
- Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Python
- Experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux
- Experience with observability tooling like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager or equivalents
- Methodical and security-conscious approach
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Helm chart authoring and management
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault, Sealed Secrets, or External Secrets Operator
- Prior experience balancing greenfield initiatives alongside business-as-usual responsibilities
