Job Description
Addepar functions as a global data and artificial intelligence platform designed to help investment professionals convert complex financial statistics into practical insights. The company unifies portfolio, client, and market data into a single view, serving over 1,500 firms across 60 countries. Addepar is currently hiring a remote, full-time Staff Software Engineer for Developer Experience to steer the architecture of next-generation validation guardrails and lead artificial intelligence-native developer workflows across the enterprise.
This position suits an autonomous technical thought leader who can navigate ambiguity, mentor colleagues, and spearhead grassroots engineering efforts. The selected candidate will shape software development life cycle workflows from planning and design to building, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Responsibilities include designing intelligent frameworks, establishing artificial intelligence software development life cycle playbooks, and deploying deterministic safety boundaries.
Candidates must possess strong programming abilities in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, alongside advanced experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment orchestration, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code tools. Applicants must hold legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Total compensation for this position includes a base salary ranging from $158,000 to $248,000 per year, accompanied by a bonus, equity, and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Steer the architecture of next-generation validation guardrails and drive artificial intelligence-native developer experiences across the organization
- Design engineering workflows across all software development life cycle stages into an automated, closed-loop system using artificial intelligence agents and committed markdown artifacts
- Encourage bottom-up adoption of artificial intelligence-native workflows by coaching engineers on orchestrating parallel agentic sessions and subagents
- Collaborate with platform engineers, research and development teams, and security to replace manual sign-off cycles with automated artifact triggers
- Operationalize markdown-driven artifact pipelines to maintain transparent audit trails spanning from idea conception to production
- Build deterministic build-time and deployment hooks to function as safety boundaries behind artificial intelligence development
- Integrate artificial intelligence into pull request review loops using structured policies and continuous integration runners for multi-pass reviews and automated comment thread resolution
- Design deterministic verification harnesses and visual feedback loops enabling artificial intelligence agents to self-test, iterate on defects, and verify correctness
- Construct continuous evaluation suites within continuous integration to regression-test steering configurations against real engineering tasks
- Implement automated production monitoring scripts to identify control breaches and establish triage queues for software development life cycle improvements
Requirements
- Demonstrate deep conceptual and hands-on understanding of integrating artificial intelligence into the entire software development lifecycle
- Apply a data-driven mindset focused on improving delivery metrics and framework reliability through explicit data analysis
- Operate with high autonomy and proactivity in ambiguous environments by identifying friction points and engineering solutions
- Possess strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript to write clean, maintainable, production-grade tools
- Bring deep hands-on expertise in advanced continuous integration and continuous deployment orchestration tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Have practical experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
- Hold legal authorization to work within the United States for any employer without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Experience managing complex software states and isolating environments at enterprise scale
- Past background building custom internal wrapper applications or developer plugins around large language models
- Proven success technically leading or closely pairing across split North American and Indian engineering hubs
- Familiarity with service integration testing, contract testing tools, and developer catalog platforms such as Backstage
Core Skills
Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $158,000 to $248,000 per year
