Currently, Rula is hiring for a full-time Staff Software Engineer to focus on Provider Growth, Acquisition & Supply Management.
This position targets product-focused engineers who excel at resolving ambiguity, creating dependable systems, and enhancing the provider journey. The engineering work bridges provider experiences with marketplace mechanics to ensure patients connect with care promptly. Responsibilities span building scalable distributed systems, guiding cross-functional technical strategies, and leveraging AI-assisted coding tools.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver software that impacts provider onboarding, acquisition, and practice building
- Bring order to ambiguity by architecting robust distributed systems
- Lead initiatives across multiple teams and influence technical strategy without direct authority
- Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, technical documentation, and mentorship for junior staff
- Communicate effectively to align technical and non-technical stakeholders around a unified vision
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of professional software engineering experience creating scalable distributed systems
- Strong full-stack capabilities in building and maintaining production web applications
- Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems
- Hands-on practice utilizing AI-assisted software development utilities like Claude Code
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder alignment
Qualifications
- Experience constructing AI-powered engineering workflows, tooling, or automation that improved development speed or quality
- Track record of driving projects end-to-end from discovery and design through launch and post-launch support
- Familiarity with Node.js, React, TypeScript, Kafka, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Background in scaling engineering organizations within fast-paced startup environments
