In this individual contributor position, the incoming engineer will direct technical strategy, define system architecture vision, and translate high-level goals into actionable project roadmaps. The role involves acting as a technical lead across cross-functional initiatives, establishing engineering quality standards, writing code for core monetization backend services, and mentoring other team members to foster technical excellence.
This opportunity is available for remote work or via a hybrid setup requiring attendance at the New York City office three days per week. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Revenue Systems. Responsibilities
- Own system architectural vision and design for critical business areas
- Translate high-level system vision into estimated project plans for strategic initiatives
- Serve as technical lead and cross-functional liaison on business-critical projects
- Mentor team members to improve delivery quality and autonomy
- Drive best practices for engineering excellence and influence design reviews
- Contribute high-quality code across billing, orders, and payment systems
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience specifying, delivering, and maintaining complex distributed backend services
- Significant experience with multiple programming languages, specifically Java
- Familiarity with tools such as Springboot, Hibernate, and databases
- Demonstrated experience leading system architecture decisions across multiple teams or initiatives
- Proven ability to serve as a technical lead on cross-functional projects while aligning engineering and business goals
