Job Description
ServiceNow is hiring a full-time Staff Voice AI Engineer – Core Platform for an on-site position in Hyderabad. This position involves designing, implementing, and developing the foundational Voice Platform, encompassing audio acquisition, speech generation, conversation management, voice harnesses, and integration with self-hosted or API-driven Voice AI models. The chosen candidate will collaborate with product managers and customers to address technology hurdles, construct scalable distributed systems across multiple datacenters and regions, and write maintainable code following best practices like code reviews and unit testing. The role also requires contributing to Site Reliability Engineering practices by translating operational needs into software tooling requirements and mentoring peers within Voice AI engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the core Voice Platform components such as audio acquisition, conversation management, speech generation, voice harnesses, and Voice AI model integrations
- Collaborate with product managers to engage customers, understand use cases and technology challenges, and deliver solutions for customer success
- Build and deploy large-scale distributed Voice AI systems spanning multiple datacenters and regions
- Write clean, scalable, high-quality, and reusable code by enforcing software engineering processes like unit testing and code reviews
- Contribute to SRE practice improvements by converting operational use cases into software tooling requirements
- Mentor colleagues and foster knowledge sharing across Voice AI engineering disciplines
Requirements
- 8 or more years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on background building distributed Voice AI systems at large operational scale
- 4 or more years of experience building LLM-based applications involving model integration rather than training
- 6 or more years of development experience utilizing Python, Golang, Java, or similar programming languages
- 2 or more years of experience developing LLM-based experiences and building agents through prompt engineering
- Working operational experience with highly available distributed workloads on Kubernetes via a DevOps approach
- Proven track record of architecting and shipping distributed voice platform systems or Voice AI systems at large operational scale
Qualifications
- Experience building software for compliance and security in regulated environments
- Experience building with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Windsurf
