Job Description
Elastic is recruiting a Strategic Account Executive for its financial services accounts, with New York listed as the location. The job is full-time and on-site. According to the posting, the strongest candidates live in the NY/NJ area or Phoenix and have previously sold complex technology to credit card issuers and other sizable, geographically spread financial firms.
This seller finds, qualifies and closes strategic software and subscription deals inside assigned Fortune 250 accounts. Much of the effort goes into earning the confidence of senior executives, charting which business units, IT groups and economic decision makers shape each account, and building a convincing case for Elastic in each client's own terms.
On a daily basis, the executive keeps a detailed view of every client's technology estate and growth plans, drafts account plans aimed at both fresh business and broader product use, and sets the strategy for each deal while coordinating colleagues. Keeping a rolling pipeline healthy is part of it, as is learning the whole Elastic catalog and working with marketing, alliance partners and channel groups.
The role suits a veteran enterprise seller who has managed lengthy, intricate negotiations, understands how cloud and subscription licensing works, and feels at ease presenting to chief-level leaders. Compensation pairs a base salary with variable pay, and the two together make up on-target earnings.

- Produce a strategic plan per account and direct internal teams on deal tactics
- Carry out business planning backed by value analysis and return-on-investment figures
- Keep the pipeline current and align marketing, alliance and channel colleagues
- Grow fluency across the full Elastic product range
Requirements
- Ten to fifteen-plus years in technology sales within banking and financial services
- Documented success with American Express and/or major global financial institutions as a global or strategic account manager

- Steady record of raising B2B technology sales results and meeting quota
- Experience selling to top executives at large companies in deals worth seven or eight figures
- Understanding of subscription pricing and SaaS licensing elements such as cloud spend, credits and services
