Job Description
Upside operates a platform that rewards shoppers for everyday spending while helping brick-and-mortar merchants win profitable new customers. It is recruiting a Strategic Account Manager to build account plans for some of the biggest brands in the fuel and convenience store sector. The aim is to retain those partners and expand their use of the platform, and the role reports to the Senior Manager, Account Management.
The manager guides clients from onboarding into multi-year partnerships, teaches them how to get value from the product through customized decks and data, and identifies concerns before they become churn risks. Responsibilities include tracking satisfaction, retention and growth figures, finding opportunities such as added locations, new store launches and long-term contracts, and leading monthly reviews with merchant partners. The manager also converts raw account information into write-ups, customer stories and white papers, works with analytics, product, marketing and operations colleagues, and maintains relationships with senior executives at large companies.
Candidates need at least seven years of client-facing work, four of them in enterprise technology or retail fuel, along with a bachelor's degree. Public speaking ability, a history of beating targets, strong project management and the skill to convert analysis into persuasive narratives are expected.
