Masabi is hiring a remote Systems Engineer on a contract basis for professionals located in India, working a shifted schedule to align with United Kingdom working hours. - Write well-tested code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to releases, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and continuous integration pipelines
- Troubleshoot technical issues across cloud environments and physical hardware utilizing metrics, logs, and lab equipment
- Participate in technical discussions and feature refinement to shape engineering solutions
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and support team objectives
Requirements
- Clear and confident communication skills in written and spoken English
- Minimum of two years of commercial software engineering experience
- Solid programming skills in at least one language with willingness to learn others
- Comfort working across the technical stack from device-level concerns to cloud services
- Experience building or operating services on AWS or another major cloud platform
- Strong grounding in Git workflows, Docker, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and testing methodologies including unit, contract, and integration tests
- Ability to work through ambiguous problems and ask for assistance when necessary
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach focused on sharing knowledge
Qualifications
- Experience with Go, Java, Kotlin, or C
- Android development background
- Embedded Linux experience including systemd, Yocto, and cross-compilation
- Familiarity with smartcards, NFC, or EMV contactless technologies
- Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, Terraform, or Terragrunt
- Background in security-sensitive environments involving key management or PCI, or experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Knowledge of IoT device fleets, transit systems, or ticketing platforms
